Linux is for people with brains. That’s because they work. I can run any mac or pc program on my System76 running Karmic. Every Wifi network is open. It’s always free and it does everything better.

And that’s exactly why I would never buy a Mac. Their greed! They make plenty of money off of the iPod, and OS X sales would be way higher if they would put it on other systems.
well that is also very important if you are developer considering you have maximum amount of customization in hand, more over you cant blame OS if using *nix stable released, like system admin usually does on microsoft. i like all *Nix variants especially AIX and RHEL.
@rajjja Well thank you, I didn’t consider myself professional but if you say so! I thought Linux was for people who prefer open source software.

i’d say Apple makes its dough on hardware sales, making OS X runnable on non-apple platforms wouldn’t be profitable. OS X is really the carrot that drives people to buy Mac.

Linux is for professionals who wants security and reliablity but mac and PC are for home users who thinks pc as a gaming station. if PC or MAC are better then NASA must be using them. think again

I find this everlasting Mac/ PC/ Other debate very humerous. All solutions work about as well as each other each with their individual pitfalls and benefits. Damn fanboys.

Linux runs on PCs, so I don’t think “Linux vs PC” is the correct terminology. lol
I use both Ubuntu/Kubuntu and Windows Vista. And i think they’re both great! I’ve never used a Mac before, but I use a Mac style Dock Bar in both Ubuntu and Vista, so I’m sure Macintosh would be great if they let you use it on the average PC dammit! DX

@gtgidemgreen Ugh…Just because it is on a UNIX platform does not make the OS Linux…There are so many things exponentially wrong with your statement, it makes me want to hang myself from a high rafter…Evidentially you have never examined the multitude of differentials between OSX and ANY Linux OS, such as GUI and how it truncates and manipulates data sets. One has a much more solidified architecture for starters (OSX) as is designed to work on Apple certified hardware only!
windows is using winsock to connect to the inet. but winsock is copied from unix

When people are unable to put Linux on a PC, is the day the PC architecture becomes a closed architecture, like the Macs.
