I saw her only one time in Buenos Aires 1949 Teatro Colon season, she still wans’t a star (in 1951 she would become a very big star) she sang Turandot, Norma and 1 performance of Aìda in replacement of the house soprano Delia Rigal
These are very dear memories .This is my first message in this site, I am 93 and I learned to use internet.I heard Callas at Teatro Colon. Turandot was something quite dissapoiting her voice wasn’t big enough for Puccini but in Norma she was very good
Now we can tell everyone who says oh she didnt have a big voice and she wasnt a dramatic soprano that they are wrong. LOL, this is some recording isnt it?
This is absolutely lovely.. They are both in fabulous voice, and Callas! she was like the seventh wonder of the world.. No wonder she had such a career! Her early singing is magnificent.. artistic with a huge supple voice.
La mejor versión.
Insuperable.
Thank you very much.
