Ubuntus not bad, but Maya in general crashes frequently on alot of computers
dunno about this. using maya on ubuntu with no problems
maya always crashes, a friend of mind works at pixar, and whenevers he’s they’re useing maya its on a mac computer running with nothing else and it still crashes every five minutes, as for blender, great program

you can use open source blender or maya for linux. You should know maya, shrek is created in this for example
