I have gotin some comments on this set of videos *on the bad side* and they have very good points and no one has to worry about making me upset or deleting there post.
Computers are a great thing with many people who work on them so there are more view points than one.
And yes I may have worded some things wrong and we are all human..this was some of the first videos I made and so call it video shyness that it was alittle hard to think straight on simple things.
you pronounce ‘ubuntu linux’ like ‘youtube linux’ or something like that..
anyway, i’m not going into the debate on how to pronounce it, imo it doesn’t matter. i’m also not going into the gnutard crap about how free and freeware differs. for an average person wanting to use a computer, it’s the ‘free as in beer’ that mostly matters.
so putting that aside, monolithic kernels are actually more stable, if they’re built right (take a look at qnx or even minix, what linux is ‘based on’).
Not freeware. Free software. Huge difference. Not trying to naggle you, but it’s important to recognize that if it were just plain free, not open source, it wouldn’t be good at all.
The reason you shouldn’t take those numbers seriously is that the majority of Linux users until netbooks came out installed it on their Windows machine, and many people dual-boot. The only distro running metrics on their usage is Fedora. I think those percentages are taken directly from desktop sales statistics.
You pronounce it “mon-oh-lith-ik”
cool thx
