Tim Minchin – The Good Book (Live)
Posted on 04 July 2010 by Abidoon
Tim Minchin is as brilliant and hilarious as ever as he satires the bible in “The Good Book.” I own nothing, obviously, go buy the DVD as Tim Minchin deserves the moolah. BTW, there’s another version on here too (and he should get credit, as he uploaded the video first). Check it out: www.youtube.com

@absentbrain i wish i had them to sing in RE when i was at school
“Swing your daughter by the hand, but if she gets raped by a man, and refuses then to marry him, stone her to death.”
DD
@houjebekgek Which joke do you mean? The boot one? It’s funny because usually Tim doesn’t wear shoes onstage, but for this song he did in order to poke fun at the sort of religious/country-western type musicians who usually sing stuff like this – the ones who wear cowboy gear.
@QueenSlartibartfast I think it is “Fuck that’s fucked” and laughs, and restarts – pretty common Oz saying… great posts! Tims is da man!

@davidleachmusic I think you’re right!
Maybe not about what he said (it’s not really intelligible, anyway), but he messed up a bit, then reacted to it. I hadn’t even noticed that was what happened, it all happens so fast.
@QueenSlartibartfast I can’t make it out either, but I think he’s cursing because he messes up the twiddly bit. He starts it at 4:32, says something like “Fuck that was bad” at 4:35 and starts again straight after. That’s my interpretation, anyway!
@NZEdwards I think its “Fuck, that’s hard.”
@NZEdwards I think he just says “ah its fucked” or something like that in reference to his fingers getting tangled on his run down the keyboard.

@houjebekgek which joke don’t you understand?
@NZEdwards I could never really make it out, but I *think* he says “Fuck, that’s fun.” Maybe.
Maybe not, I guess they would have bleeped that out. Hmm. Now I’m wondering too.
Does anyone know what he says at 4:35?
one of the best comedy songs i’ve ever heard. It has everything. Only the first joke I don’t get
@QueenSlartibartfast I apologise for the specific inclination of my statement as i said i was rather intoxicated at the time
.
@QueenSlartibartfast might i say i love your username hahah. good to see some fans out there of the best h2g2 character (imho of course)
and, as always, tim minchin is… inexpressible by words other than his name. thats good btw.
@MegaEddyD LOL, I didn’t mention “If you open your mind too much” because it’s featured at the end of the “Religion” monologue I mentioned.
@TheUndeadFiend every time i hear a new tim song it becomes my new favourite
Anyone notice he’s using an American southern accent for this? I wish I didn’t know people who actually spoke like this
he has so lovely face and emerald green lovely eyes!! His smile is like a breath of spring
his voice is soft like summer rain
love this guy he’s so sexy and he’s a piano genius! <3
@Auntikrist :O You think he’s unattractive? I think it’s the charisma that attracts me to him. He’s much more attractive in person. ^_^
@Dallo10 Bears Don’t Dig On Dancing
@Dallo10 “Storm” is an awesome anti-theism style poem even if it touches on beliefs that are more inane, also “If you open your mind too much your brain will fall out (take my wife)” wasn’t mentioned by QSBF.. other than that i can’t think of anymore atm… tho i am rather drunk lol
@QueenSlartibartfast And don’t forget the masterpiece “Storm”! (okay, granted, it’s not actually a SONG, but a beat poem, but whatever)
