@Corbenik hello when i boot fromt the cd it doesnt goto the Ubuntu Menu thing it gives me a cmd and we have set our bios to boot from the cd and still gives us the cmd and we burned it correctly please help!!!!!!!
whats the crack with the 1 minute videos?
nope i dont think so
nope
it depends on what you do
if you just run the cd in test mode it won’t hurt a thing
if you do a full installation its going to wipe your entire drive
but you could also do what is called partitioning so you can have windows(or what every os you have) and linux
No. It will allow you to see your drives, but won’t do anything to them unless you go in and delete the files yourself.
will this delete all the things on my comp
wait, so after finishing the cd what do you do? put it back in the drive or restart the computer?
have tried this with with vista on my laptop to no avail can anyone help have set my bios accordingly but still on good
wow me have the same model pc
I’m using Ubuntu for 2 hours on an VM
I’m loving it
Just requested a Live CD, the one i burned myself didnt work (probably because of the download accelerator i used). Its pretty sweet that you dont even have to pay shipping!
Its pretty sweet that they will ship you a live CD for free, even shipping was covered.
i got linux dvd downloaded from net linux wont even boot from cd i setted up my bios and etc it wont boot i got vista DVD it boot normaly linux dont and when i do inwindow install it stop working help me plese.
U don’t even need to go to the bios u can install it from the desktop.
Not at all. Most hardware works.
Ubuntu 8.10 works great with all but one thing of everything I’ve got. Graphics card, Monitor, USB mouse, USB keyboard, 12in1 Memory card reader even the LCD-TV I could not get the proper Resolution for in Windows and Nvidias drivers, now it’s pixel fraggin’ perfect, my main OS for watching movies I tell you. But I’ll never use it with my scanner. Scanner worked in Ubuntu 8.04 tho.
Moron. Ubuntu detected X2 CPU and onboard audio & LAN. But it did not detect ATI or Nvidia card, but easy enough to install restricted drivers. Also didn’t detect X-Fi but that’s easy to install also.
Any normal keyboard will work with Ubuntu. Keyboards and mice are very common things, so you don’t have to worry about it.
i have the live cd evrything works on till the
boot progress is done and it jest displays a black screen ,help?
